The Secret behind Skin Conditions

On the surface of your skin sits an organic ecosystem made up of billions of bacteria called your microbiome. It forms the first layer of defense for your skin against outside forces. For your skin microbiome to be healthy, it must be balanced.

The Key to Healthy Skin: A Diverse Microbiome

A well-balanced and varied microbial community protects and keeps your skin looking vibrant and youthful. But how can you maintain this balance without knowing your skin's current state? BioMe provides the solution by analyzing your unique skin microbiome and offering personalized guidance.

What Affects Your Skin Microbiome?

Factors such as environment, skincare routine, and diet influence your skin microbiome. BioMe offers tailored recommendations to help you optimize these factors, ensuring a healthy and balanced skin microbiome.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does qPCR work?

Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), also known as real-time PCR, is a laboratory technique used to amplify and simultaneously quantify a targeted DNA molecule. The science behind qPCR involves the use of fluorescent dyes or probes that bind to the DNA. As the DNA is amplified during the PCR cycles, the fluorescence increases proportionally, allowing the quantification of the DNA in real-time. This method combines the principles of traditional PCR—denaturation, annealing, and extension—with the ability to measure the DNA concentration at each cycle, providing a precise and efficient way to quantify gene expression, detect pathogens, and assess genetic variations.

What bacteria are tested?

We measure the following 20 bacteria: S.capitis, S.hominis, S.aureus, S.epidermidis, C. acnes defendens, C. acnes acnes, C. acnes elongatum, C. granulosum, C. avidum, C. modestum, S. caprae, S. haemolyticus, S. lugdunensis, C. striatum, C. tuberculostearicum, C. kroppenstedtii, M. luteus, S. mitis, B. oleronius, Lactobacillus.
